Padel Officially Recognised by The Olympic Council of Asia

A New Step Toward the Olympic Games

Padel has been officially recognised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and will be included as an official sport in future editions of the Asian Games. The decision marks a major milestone for the sport’s development in Asia.

The recognition was made during the OCA Executive Board meeting on 6 November, where the board unanimously approved Padel as an official Asian Games discipline. This strengthens the collaboration between the International Padel Federation (FIP) and Padel Asia to advance the sport regionally and globally.

Padel has already featured in the European Games 2023 and the South American Games 2022, and will appear in the Mediterranean Games 2026. These milestones demonstrate Padel’s growing global presence and progress toward Olympic inclusion.

Representing nearly 100 national federations, FIP continues to expand international partnerships. The sport now counts more than 4,600 courts across 30 Asian countries. FIP remains committed to developing Padel across men’s, women’s, youth, amateur, and professional categories in all five continents.
