Padel officially included in the sports programme of the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games

New milestone for the development of padel in Asia following OCA recognition of the International Padel Federation (FIP)

Padel has been officially added to the sports programme of the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. The inclusion follows the formal recognition of the International Padel Federation (FIP) by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) as the governing body responsible for padel at the international level.

The decision marks rapid growth of padel in Asia, supported by rising participation, increased facilities, and expanding competitive events. It also strengthens the sport’s position within the Olympic movement.

This inclusion opens new opportunities for athletes to compete on one of the most prestigious multi-sport stages in the continent. A multi-sport event is a large-scale competition involving many sports, such as the Asian Games and the Olympic Games.

FIP President Luigi Carraro stated that the decision represents a significant milestone and demonstrates the global development of padel. He added that FIP is prepared to collaborate with OCA, Padel Asia, and National Federations to ensure successful preparation for padel at the 2026 edition.

As the international federation, FIP emphasized its commitment to making the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games an important step for the global expansion of padel. (*)
