Indonesian Women’s Padel Team Makes History, Advances to FIP Asia Cup 2025 Quarterfinals

Two victories over Kuwait and Bahrain secure Indonesia’s place among Asia’s best in Doha.

The Indonesian Women’s National Padel Team made history by reaching the quarterfinals of the FIP Asia Cup 2025 in Doha, Qatar.

The achievement met the target set by the Indonesian Padel Federation (PBPI) and affirmed Indonesia’s growing presence as a new force in Asian padel.

In the group stage, Indonesia delivered two commanding performances. The Garuda squad swept Kuwait 3-0 on October 17, 2025, before repeating the result against Bahrain the following day. These back-to-back wins secured Indonesia’s advancement to the last eight as group winners.

The team’s impressive showing drew strong support both from local spectators in Doha and fans watching via live broadcast. Indonesia’s Ambassador to Qatar was also present at the venue, offering encouragement to the players.

PBPI Chairman Galih Dimuntur Kartasasmita expressed pride in the team’s achievement, noting that the players maintained focus and composure under pressure while successfully meeting the federation’s goal of reaching the quarterfinals. (*)
